Frequently Asked Questions

Where is The Cotton Shed?

The Cotton Shed is tucked inside Garden Mania in Boambee, just 7 minutes south of Coffs Harbour CBD and only 100 metres off the Pacific Highway. We're easy to find, with plenty of onsite parking.

What will I find at The Cotton Shed?

A little bit of everything! We're a garden centre, nursery and gift shop, but probably not quite like one you've visited before.

You'll find plants and pots mixed with wicker, garden décor, homewares, gifts, clothing and all sorts of unexpected treasures. Our stock is constantly changing, so part of the fun is seeing what's arrived since your last visit.

Do you have a good range of plants and pots?

Yes! Plants and pots are a big part of The Cotton Shed, with plenty of different sizes and styles to choose from. We also have garden décor, baskets and interesting pieces to help you create something a little different at home or in the garden.

Is The Cotton Shed a good place to find gifts?

Definitely. We love finding unusual gifts and beautiful things you don't see everywhere else. You'll find everything from wicker, candles and soaps to homewares, garden gifts, beautiful leather bags and more.

It's also a great place to come when you need a gift but have absolutely no idea what to buy!

Can I buy West Indies Wear at The Cotton Shed?

Yes! The Cotton Shed is home to West Indies Wear, our international pure cotton resortwear brand, and KVL Linen — both designed right here in Boambee.

Alongside the current collections, you'll often find samples, one-offs, past-season pieces and some seriously good bargains on our sample and clearance racks.

Is there a café at The Cotton Shed?

Yes! One of the best things about visiting us is that the award-winning Secret Garden Café is right here at Garden Mania.

Grab a Botero coffee, enjoy one of their home-baked cakes or stay for something to eat under the giant fig trees before or after you browse The Cotton Shed.

Do I need to book a table at the café?

Bookings aren't always necessary and you're very welcome to simply pop in. Some days can get busy though, so if you're visiting with a larger group, we recommend booking ahead to make sure there's room for everyone.

Is The Cotton Shed dog friendly?

Yes! Well-behaved dogs are welcome. There are plenty of outdoor tables around Garden Mania where you can sit with your four-legged family member. We just ask that dogs remain on a lead while visiting.

Is The Cotton Shed easy to access from the Pacific Highway?

Yes! We're just off the Pacific Highway, so The Cotton Shed is an easy stop whether you're travelling north or south.

If you're heading north, take the Lindsays Road Boambee exit, turn left and Garden Mania is approximately 100 metres along on your left.

If you're heading south, take the Sawtell exit, turn right at the stop sign and Garden Mania is approximately 200 metres along on your left.

There's plenty of easy onsite parking. If you're towing a caravan, we recommend parking on the street out front, opposite Boambee School. When you're ready to leave, simply continue along the road for another 100 metres to the school bus turning circle, where there's plenty of room to turn around before heading back to the highway.

Is The Cotton Shed good to visit on a rainy day?

Absolutely! If you're looking for something to do in Coffs Harbour on a rainy day, The Cotton Shed is a great place to escape the weather.

The parking isn't undercover, but it's only a short walk to the front door. Once inside, the sheds are undercover and interconnected, so you can browse plants, pots, gifts, homewares and clothing without having to keep going back out into the rain. Then finish with coffee, cake or something to eat at the Secret Garden Café.

What else is there at Garden Mania?

Quite a lot! The Cotton Shed is part of the Garden Mania destination in Boambee, with beautiful gardens, the Secret Garden Café and other independent local businesses to discover.

It's worth allowing yourself some extra time rather than planning a quick in-and-out visit — come for The Cotton Shed and stay for a wander, a coffee and cake under the giant fig trees.
